| Rudy Ruiz Title: President and Chief Creative Officer Education: BA (Government) Harvard College and MA (Public Policy) Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government Rudy has been hailed as “a cultural visionary” by the National Hispanic Institute. As the co-founder and leader of Interlex, he brings a unique blend of strategic thinking and creative prowess to our work. His marketing and analytical skills were honed at Harvard University, where he earned both his BA in Government (’90) and his Masters in Public Policy (’93). His lifelong creative pursuits have included music composition and performance, writing, and the creative direction of Interlex over the past decade. While his creative work has won national acclaim, Rudy achieved a major milestone in 2003 with the publication of his first book, “Adelante!”, by Random House Español. Rudy enjoys working hands-on with our clients and staff to create innovative and culturally meaningful communications that make an impact on people’s lives. He is also committed to pioneering new ways of thinking about multicultural markets and what drives their behavior. This commitment is evidenced in the numerous proprietary models, tools and techniques he has innovated for use by Interlex clients. | Kristie Toscano Title: Director of Public Relations & Outreach Education: BS (Business Administration/Marketing) Trinity University Kristie a multitalented professional with experience in nearly every aspect of the advertising industry. She serves as Account Supervisor to several of Interlex’s largest accounts, including the Texas Department of Health, Texas Department of Transportation, and the Laredo Convention & Visitors Bureau. Kristie keeps their campaigns running smoothly by overseeing the operations of each client’s daily activities, media relations, and account administration. She prides herself on being the champion for her clients’ needs and always provides added value to their accounts by going the extra mile. The professionalism she brings to each account helps create strong and enduring bonds between Interlex and our clients. Her strengths include multicultural public relations, grassroots outreach, partnership-building, and Latin American media and travel trade relations. |

Heather Kristina Ruiz
Title: Creative Director Education: Southwest Texas State University and Incarnate Word University Heather is the driving artistic force behind Interlex’s award-winning designs and creative concepts. Her work has been found visually compelling by audiences the world over. The hallmarks of her innate style are vibrant color, intimate humanity, and cultural relevance. As an Art Director and Graphic Designer, Heather is personally involved in the development of all Interlex campaigns. Her creative work has won national and international awards including numerous Telly, Addy, Service Industry Association of America, International Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus, Davey, Summit, and National Government Communicator awards. Her design work extends beyond the advertising industry to the interrelated world of fashion and high-profile events. Most recently, she created and produced a fashion fundraising event called F3. Receiving extensive media coverage, the event raised money for the San Antonio Food Bank and was commended by America’s Second Harvest, the national coalition of food banks. Heather’s passionate commitment to community causes is evidenced in Interlex’s mission and client list as well as in the creative pro bono work the agency has contributed to numerous non-profit organizations, including the American Diabetes Association, Special Olympics, and March of Dimes. One of the nation’s leading Latina designers and entrepreneurs, recognized in Hispanic Magazine among the Entrepreneur 100, Heather also created and heads Joven, Interlex’s youth-inspired marketing division. Prior to co-founding Interlex, Heather studied Mass Communications at Southwest Texas State University and Incarnate Word University. | Carlos Aguilar Title: Art Director Education: BA (Graphic Design) National University of Columbia in Bogotá Carlos began his career as a freelance graphic designer with clients such as the French Embassy in Colombia, the District Cinematheque, the City of Bogotá and various private companies such as 2W and Web Depot, two website design companies. Carlos has created award-winning logos for Texas Department of Health accounts including: Osteoporosis, Bureau of Chronic Disease & Tobacco Prevention, Women, Infants & Children (WIC) African American Breastfeeding Initiative, the San Antonio Food Bank and the Laredo Convention & Visitors Bureau. His work combines the contemporary with the classic. Carlos is also is an established artist whose work is frequently exhibited throughout the Southwest. |
| Weslee Baerga Title: Graphic Designer Education: Graphic Design Degree from San Antonio College Wes has experience in a wide variety of graphic arts mediums ranging from website development to mural designs. As a freelancer Wes has worked with healthcare systems including the University of Texas Health Sciences Center of San Antonio and the Methodist Hospital. He also developed campaigns or faith-centered organizations such as the San Antonio International Church of Christ. His work for these included developing brochures, signage, logos and collateral material for which he received a Silver Addy in 2003. Since joining Interlex, Wes has designed collateral for the Department of State Health Service’s anti-smoking campaign including a Spanish language website and print materials for the States Bioterrorism Preparedness Campaign. |
| Teno Villarreal Title: Director of Strategic Development Education: BA from St. Mary’s University and MBA from Texas Christian University Teno began his marketing career at Interlex in 1998, where he served as a key figure during the company’s early years. Teno re-joined Interlex in August 2005, bringing a powerful dedication and passion to the work being done by the team. He uses his considerable marketing skills while playing a central role in daily account service, strategic planning, public relations, and event promotions for several of Interlex’s major accounts. These accounts include the Department of State Health Services, Baylor College of Medicine, UTMB, Valero, Heartland National Tuberculosis Center, and the American Cancer Society. Teno has a strong background in both advertising and public relations. On behalf of the State of Texas Department of Economic Development - Tourism Division, he provided media and travel trade relations for the Latin American market through conferences, trade shows, press events, and presentations. |
| Ruth Escobedo Title: Office Manager Education: San Antonio College Ruth has been an indispensable member of the Interlex team since 2004, having served in a variety of roles. Using solid organizational skills, Ruth manages the front office smoothly and efficiently, while cultivating a creative and welcoming atmosphere. Ruth's background includes several years of solid customer service and human resource experience with large companies. She is currently pursuing a BBA in Business Management. |
| Lori Dennis Title: Accounting Manager Education: BBA from Texas A&M University Lori became part of the Interlex team in September 2005. She serves the fundamental role of preparing and maintaining all financial documentation for the company, including budgets, billing, financial statements, and payroll. She brings over 25 years of sound accounting experience to Interlex. Prior to arriving at Interlex, Lori honed her accounting and auditing skills as an accounting manager for three, large manufacturing companies. She specialized in developing auditing procedures to identify and eliminate procedural errors in day-to-day operations. |
| Joseph Garcia Title: Production Manager Joining the Interlex team in August of 2005, Joseph serves the integral role of trafficking the daily workflow of the team while ensuring a quality work product is developed within budget and timelime restrictions. He is also part of the Business Development Team, seeking out new business opportunities in keeping with Interlex’s growth philosophy. Prior to joining Interlex, Joseph was Production Coordinator for a major educational assessment company. He worked with the Department of Education of several states, including Alabama, Arizona, Hawaii, Massachusetts, New Mexico, New York, and Texas, to produce and manufacture testing documents and educational books for children. Joseph also has several years experience doing strategic marketing for Fortune 500 companies and buying/negotiating for a major grocery chain. |
